Troy Bilborough, Cherie Leckner and Scott Carnochan are the New Zealand representatives for the prestigious Rib Cook Off Association (RCOA NZ), set to commence in mid-2025. These culinary experts bring a wealth of experience and accolades to the competition. Troy, a multiple national champion in various categories, combines his passion for barbecue with his entrepreneurial spirit. Cherie, renowned for her achievements in the competitive barbecue scene, dedicates herself to perfecting her rib recipes. Scott, a seasoned dairy farmer and pitmaster, has demonstrated his prowess in both steak and barbecue competitions. Together, they embody New Zealand's dedication to BBQ competition scene.
Troy is a highly accomplished individual with numerous accolades in the culinary field. He has been named the SCA National Steak and Ancillary Champion three times and the National NZBA Chicken Champion twice. Additionally, he holds the highest placement at the American Royal World Championship among New Zealand teams, ranking 69th. Troy is also a dedicated family man, with two children, a large dog, and a cat.

Professionally, he is a commercial pilot and the proprietor of five successful barbecue and burger establishments. Moreover, Troy has demonstrated his commitment to philanthropy by skateboarding 10,000 kilometres around the world for charity.
Cherie Leckner is based in North Canterbury with partner Dave Potts, and their dog Max. Cherie is a Project Manager for an NZ led, Australasian Infrastructure business, working in various locations across New Zealand.
Cherie competes in the 2 Girls and a Grill Competition BBQ team with her sister Natasha. In 2024, they placed 6th nationally for Brisket and earned two perfect 300 pins. Cherie has consistently made the SCA top 10 for Ancillary hand-ins and Steak, with competing at the 2024 SCA World Championships as her highlight. She is excited to perfect her rib recipe for the NZ BBQ scene's Rib Cook-off.
Scott Carnochan, a dairy farmer in Southbridge, Canterbury, owns 400ha near the Rakaia River and milks 1000 cows. He is also the head pitmaster for his BBQ team and catering business, Smokey Fish Bar Bee Q, driven by his passion for low and slow BBQ. Competing for the past 15 months, Scott ranked 4th in NZ’s 2024 SCA steak points chase, with 2 wins, 5 top 3, and 14 top 10 placements. In NZBA events, he won in Chicken, Ribs, and Pork, earning three perfect 300 pins. Scott is eager to get involved with the RCOA and master the perfect Rib and ancillary dishes.
